Home Entertainment. “The Hangover Part III” follows the infamous Wolfpack as the gang sets out on a fearless mission to save their kidnapped friend in Sin City. 

From director Todd Phillips (“The Hangover,” “The Hangover Part II,” and “Old School”) and a screenplay by co-writer Craig Mazin, “The Hangover Part III” stars Bradley Cooper as Phil; Ed Helms as Stu; Zach Galifianakis as Alan; Justin Bartha as Doug; Ken Jeong as Leslie Chow; John Goodman as Marshall; Heather Graham as Jade; and Jeffrey Tambor as Alan’s father, Sid.

 “The Hangover Part III” will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack for $35.99 and on 2-disc DVD Special Edition for $28.98.  The Blu-ray Combo Pack features the theatrical version of the film in hi-definition on Blu-ray, and the 2-disc DVD Special Edition features the theatrical version in standard definition.  Both the Blu-ray Combo Pack and the 2-disc DVD Special Edition include UltraViolet which allows consumers to download and instantly stream the standard definition theatrical version of the film to a wide range of devices including computers and compatible tablets, smartphones, game consoles, Internet-connected TVs and Blu-ray players.*  

Synopsis: It’s been two years. Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms) and Doug (Justin Bartha) are happily living uneventful lives at home. Tattoos have been lasered off, files purged. The last they heard from disaster-magnet Leslie Chow (Ken Jeong), he’d been tossed into a Thai prison and, with him out of the way, the guys have very nearly recovered from their nights prowling the seamy side of Las Vegas in a roofie’d haze, and being kidnapped, shot at, and chased by drug-dealing mobsters in Bangkok.

The only member of the Wolfpack who’s not content is Alan (Zach Galifianakis). Still lacking a sense of purpose, the group’s black sheep has ditched his meds and given in to his natural impulses in a big way – which, for Alan, means no boundaries, no filters and no judgment – until a personal crisis forces him to finally seek the help he needs.

And who better than his three best friends to make sure he takes the first step. This time, there’s no bachelor party. No wedding. What could possibly go wrong? But when the Wolfpack hits the road, all bets are off.

James Dean Ultimate Collector’s Edition East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause and Giant, the Actor’s Only Films and All for Warner Bros.,
Now Remastered for their Blu-ray™ debut Nov. 5

 BURBANK, Calif., August 6, 2013 — When he died in 1955 at the age of 24 in a car crash, James Dean was mourned by millions of fans throughout the world. Despite only making three films – all of them for Warner Bros. – Dean became one of Hollywood’s most spectacular stars, and 50 years later still remains an internationally compelling force, an iconic image, and a cult favorite of timeless fascination.   On November 5, Warner Home Video will debut East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause and Giant (a George Stevens production), remastered Blu-ray as the James Dean Ultimate Collector’s Edition – a limited and numbered six-disc set that boasts three feature-length documentaries about Dean’s life including James Dean Forever Young, narrated by Martin Sheen; American Masters James Dean Sense Memories and George Stevens: A Filmmaker’s Journey.  Packaged in a double-wide gift set, the collection also contains a 48-page photo book with behind-the-scene images and rare insight into each film. The Ultimate Collector’s Edition will sell for $99.98 SRP; each film will also be available as a stand-alone Blu-ray book for $27.98 SRP each.   

All three films were 4k restorations from original camera negatives at Warner Bros. Motion Picture Imaging (MPI). Due to color fading, the original camera negatives could no longer yield an acceptable photochemical print.  

For Rebel Without a Cause, the stereo soundtrack was reconstructed from the magnetic soundtrack stripes of Cinemascope release prints. The film’s restoration was done by Warner Bros. in collaboration with The Film Foundation. East of Eden (1955)

Based on John Steinbeck’s novel and directed by Elia Kazan, East of Eden is the first of three major films that make up James Dean’s movie legacy. The idol-to-be plays Cal, a wayward Salinas, California youth who vies for the affection of his hardened father (Raymond Massey) with his favored brother Aron (Richard Davalos). Playing off the haunting sensitivity of Julie Harris, Dean’s performance earned one of the film’s four Academy Award® nominations[1]. Among the movie’s stellar performers, Jo Van Fleet won the Oscar® for Best Supporting Actress (1955).

Rebel Without a Cause (1955)

In one of the most influential performances in movie history, Dean plays Jim Stark, the new kid in town whose loneliness, frustration and anger mirrored those of postwar teens – and still reverberates 50 years later. Natalie Wood (as Jim’s girl Judy) and Sal Mineo (as Jim’s tag-along pal Plato) were Academy Award® nominees[2] for their achingly true performances. Director Nicholas Ray was also an Oscar® nominee for this landmark film which was released less than one month after Dean’s fatal car crash.

Giant (a George Stevens production) (1956)

Based on Edna Ferber’s best-selling family saga about a Texas family of ranchers and oilmen, Giant stars Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and Dennis Hopper. In his final film role, Dean stars as wrangler turned oil baron Jett Rink. Directed by the legendary George Stevens, this sprawling epic received ten Academy Award® nominations[3] including a Best Actor nod for Dean and earned Stevens a win for Directing (1956).

Review: This action-packed new feature is Yue Song's time to shine!  Writer, Director, Choreographer and Actor in this film, Song is really taking a hands on approach to martial arts filmmaking that hasn't been seen since the likes of Jackie Chan.  I enjoyed the story, although it wasn't terribly original, but the action was above and beyond what I've been seeing lately.  The editing is wonderful with tons of slow motion shots during the fights and a great stylized feel.  I definately recommend this to anyone interested in martial arts film.

Superjail Season Three DVD Review

Synopsis: This summer The Warden is back and the death toll at Superjail continues to rise at a ridiculous rate in the all-new Adult Swim DVD release Superjail! Season 3! Available July 23 the DVD includes all 10 episodes from the animated comedy's third season complete with fist fights baffling love triangles and psychedelic animation that will melt your face off. Series creators and executive producers Christy Karacas (Cartoon Sushi Robotomy) and Stephen Warbrick (Beavis and Butthead Daria) have also created a collection of bonus features for the DVD which include animatics rough cuts and an Introstring featurette.

Review: Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block is infamous for avant garde and unique programming.  None fit this mold quite so well as Superjail.  This innovative animated show can easily be described as everything from bizarre and grothesque to hilarious and fun.  This DVD release collects the complete third season of the show.  Now is a great time to get caught up as season four is coming!  We definately recommend this one for 13 or older.

Review: Ben 10 is one of those rare shows that has been going strong for a decade now in its various incarnations.  Not a lot of animated series can tout that fact!  This newest DVD gives us the second set of 10 episodes in the Omniverse series!  This is a great jump from some of the previous single disc releases for Ben 10.  I can justify buying 10 episodes at one time.   This new incarnation of Ben shows us older characters and a jump in time in the universe that we all know and love.  My 10 year old son is a huge Ben fan.  He watched this DVD set and gave it a HUGE thumbs up.  I found this new series to be a lot of fun and the DVD set is a good value for the money.

Review: Our kids LOVED the Kung Fu Panda movies, so when Nick announced the new Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness TV show, we were instantly sold.  The kids absolutely love it and we dig that its funny, safe and fun for them to watch.  This DVD release gives us seven episodes from the series, which was a big hit with the little ones.  We definately recommend this and hope that they continue to release the first season on DVD!

Review: Body of Proof brings season three to DVD.  This great drama, starring Dana Delany, is one of ABCs best shows.   This season really refreshens things up with some cast changes that really help to bring new dynamics to the show.  A lot of crime shows get stale with the same old stories, but Body of Proof manages to give us a great variety with the storytelling and a lot of fresh takes on things.  We're just hoping that the show keeps getting picked up!  This one is a must have!  If you haven't seen the show, go pick up seasons one and two on DVD, as well.  Its well worth the watch.

Red Widow: The Complete First Season DVD Review

Review: Red Widow is one of those shows that you really hope takes off.  Unfortunately, the show wasn't renewed, so this DVD represents the complete series.  The show had a great cast with quite a few notables, and some great drama.  The story arcs were fantastic and we were definately glued to it each week on ABC.  This is still a great watch, even with just the one season.  The price point on this one is pretty affordable, so we highly recommend it.

Pretty Little Liars: The Complete Third Season DVD Review

Synopsis: As the third season begins, a summer has passed since Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer found out about Mona being "A" and the death of Maya. With the terror seemingly over and an alleged murderer now behind bars, the town of Rosewood is slowly healing from old and new wounds. Each of the four girls spent their summer in different ways -- with Aria taking a photography class, Spencer taking college courses at Hollis, Hanna taking cooking classes with Caleb and Emily building houses in Haiti. But what looks "normal" for each girl is not necessarily so, as all four are hardly over what happened. With post-traumatic stress, anger and the acquisition of more secrets, the four girls are anything but fine. Now back together and coming upon the second anniversary of Alison's disappearance, the girls find themselves back on the defensive when a shocking event rocks Rosewood.

Review: Oh, the drama!  Pretty Little Liars, the ABC Family powerhouse, is back with a third season release.  This show is an addictive guilty pleasure!  The season picks up after a summer apart and we see the girls converge again as they have to deal with the aftermath of season two in a very emotional and driving way.  The season starts a little slow, but picks up after the first few episodes and does not disappoint.  I highly recommend picking this up to any fan, but if you love this show you already know its a must-have!

The Mad Max Trilogy Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: "Mad Max": On a remote stretch of deserted highway, a band of violent bikers has taken over, attacking anyone unlucky enough to cross their savage path. Racing up and down the seemingly endless miles of asphalt, the crazed outlaws blaze through small towns, plowing into vehicles and pedestrians alike with reckless abandon. Bringing a sense of law to this lawlessness are the mobile police force led by Max (Mel Gibson) and Goose (Steve Bisley), who are as fast and mean as their adversaries and are willing to do whatever it takes to cut the enemy down. "Road Warrior": In the annals of action movies few can compare with "The Road Warrior", a full-throttle epic of speed and carnage that rockets you into a dreamlike landscape where the post-nuclear future meets the mythological past. Mel Gibson plays Max, the heroic loner who drives the roads of outback Australia in an unending search for gasoline. Review: What's that you say?  You're craving early 80s post-apocalyptic joy?  You miss a time when Mel Gibson was only a maniac on-screen?  Little compares these days to the original Mad Max trilogy.  This great collection gives fans all three films in high-definition blu-ray, and the debut of Beyond Thunderdome on blu-ray! 

The original Mad Max film was a quiet and bleak emotionally driven epic that hinted at what was to come with the Road Warrior, which is admittedly my favorite of the trilogy.  All three films have their merits, however, and this is a definitive set for any fan.  The films look amazing in high-definition and I found myself enjoying them like it was the first time, all over again!

This blu-ray boxed set isn't highly extra-driven.  The extras include: "Mad Max": Commentary by Jon Dowding, David Eggby, Chris Murray and Tim Ridge, "'Mad Max': The Film Phenomenon" Featurette, "The Road Warrior": Commentary by Director George Miller and Cinematographer Dean Semler, Introduction by Leonard Maltin, Theatrical Trailer.

Review: We love documentaries here at the Legion, especially pop culture themed ones.  We have watched a lot of "We Love the 80s" and other documentaries about the decade we grew up in with our kids to kinda show them how life has changed, but this set tops them all.  Not only were we able to watch this with our kids and give them an amazing and in-depth history of our culture for a great part of the 20th century, but we ourselves learned a lot along the way, as well.  These DVD specials are well produced and fantastically in-depth and entertaining.  We cannot recommend these enough for nostalgia, education and even homeschoolers!
