Falling Skies: The Complete Second Season Blu-Ray Review
Synopsis:
The mystery deepens for the remaining survivors of the massive alien
invasion as Falling Skies returns for its second season with mysterious
new creatures. Three months have passed since former college professor,
father of three and unlikely leader of the civilian resistance group Tom
Mason (Noah Wyle) went willingly with the aliens on one of their ships
to free his son and learn their plans. Nobody has seen or heard anything
from him during this time, and his absence has taken its toll on his
sons. Ben and his older brother, Hal, have stepped up as fighters but
quickly clash as they both seek to secure their roles as leaders in
their father's absence. Many lives have been lost since Tom left, but
the survivors of the 2nd Mass still struggle on with courage and
resilience. In the first season, our heroes coped with the trauma of
losing their world; in this season, they take action and fight back!
Review: I'm not usually into science fiction shows on television, because historically they're pretty cheesy, but Fringe opened me up to the option and Falling Skies has pulled me in completely. The show, which begins it's third season on TNT soon, is an alien invasion epic like we've never seen. In the same way that the Walking Dead will make you think twice about zombies, Falling Skies makes you a little nervous about whats above you in the sky. The cast is amazing. Going into the show the only cast member I was really familiar with was Noah Wyle from all his years in E.R., but he has successfully reinvented himself on this show. I forget about his past role completely. Season two gives us a lot more development in the ranks and the strategy of the 2nd Mass, as they travel and find places to hold up and battle off the alien attackers. We get a lot more intrigue and even espionage between the two sides. This show is NOT to be missed. Pick up this season now!
