Synopsis:
THE HOBBIT BILBO BAGGINS, THE WIZARD GANDALF and 13 Dwarves, led by Thorin
Oakenshield, continue their journey to reclaim the Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.
Along the way, they encounter the skin-changer Beorn; giant Spiders of Mirkwood;
Wood-elves led by Legolas, Tauriel and King Thranduil; and a mysterious Man
named Bard, who smuggles them into Lake-town. Finally reaching the Lonely
Mountain, they face their greatest danger – the Dragon Smaug.
Review: It would be an understatement to say that the Hobbit is my favorite book of all time. I own at least a dozen different printings. I've read the book to my children and I have even watched the terrible old cartoon. When the Lord of the Rings trilogy was released I was overjoyed..and when I heard that Peter Jackson was back in the helm for the Hobbit...again I was thrilled. I saw the trailers for the first film and became a bit skeptical, but I found it to be fantastic, even though there were a number of departures from the book that were fairly major, it was still a wonderful film. The second of the trilogy is the same way, but with even more departures from the original text. This time around, we finally get Smaug in all his glory! We watched this one in 3D with our LG 3D TV and 3D Blu-Ray player and it was beyond amazing! This is without a doubt the most preferred way to view this film. Whats nice is these huge combo packs give you regular blu-rays too, so you can't watch it in 2D when desired. We definately recommend picking up this combo pack. Its without a doubt the best release of the year!
