Synopsis: The head of surgery may be “knife happy”…a runaway refuses to seek parental permission for a life-saving procedure…a research scientist ignores the side effects of his miracle cure for Hodgkin’s disease. These are just some of the problems facing doctor and resident heartthrob Joseph Gannon (Chad Everett) and Chief of Staff Paul Lochner (James Daly) in the 6-Disc 26-Episode Debut Season of Medical Center, the influential series that ran from 1969 to 76. Known for tackling cutting-edge issues, the series also featured elite guest stars, including Season One’s Dyan Cannon, Tyne Daly, Mercedes McCambridge, Slim Pickens, Walter Pidgeon, William Shatner, Martin Sheen, Richard Thomas, Cicely Tyson and more.

Review: Medical Center was the original medical drama...and a drama it was.  This DVD release represents the complete first season of the show, a 6-disc, 26 episode set!  The show is a great rivalry between the young new doctors and the seasoned veterans.  There was also a nice focus on the personal lives of the doctors, as well.  The show, while somewhat dated, still holds up quite well, as you can see in the video clip below.  This one is a great look back and fantastic for any retro TV collection.  You can't get this one in-stores...its only available at the WB Shop!
