Review: Strictly Ballroom is the first musical venture that the now legendary Baz Luhrmann.  This is the first film in his red curtain trilogy.  Originally released in 1992, the film is now poised for a special edition DVD release and it can't come soon enough!  We just got the other two films in the red carpet trilogy on blu-ray, Moulin Rouge and Romeo & Juliet.

Strictly Ballroom is a romantic comedy infused with some points of emotional drama and tons of amazing dance numbers.  This film holds-up so well and its still so enjoyable.  In an era where people are as enthralled with dancing as ever, Strictly Ballroom is an iconic movie.
