She-Ra Season One, Volume One DVD Review
She-Ra Season One, Volume One DVD Review
Synopsis: A spin-off of HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE the 1980s cartoon series SHE-RA: PRINCESS OF POWER fashioned a girl-power version of its parent show's hallmark brand of action-fantasy. Vibrantly animated and creatively told the series followed the mythical adventures of He-Man's twin sister Princess Adora as she transformed into her super-heroine alter-ego She-Ra to defeat the villainous Evil Horde and bring peace to the kingdom of Etheria
Review: The Masters of the Universe franchise has been going strong since the millenium hit! The kids that grew up on them are all grown-up now, and we love, love, LOVE our MOTU....even the spin-offs! The best of which is She-Ra: Princess of Power! She-Ra, originally slated to be He-Man's girlfriend was later changed to be his sister, Adora. She battles against Hordak and the Evil Horde to defend her planet of Etheria.
The fans (dare I call them fanboys) of MOTU are hardcore. They don't accept anything less than perfection. This show has already been relased in the past with a ton of extras and a much loftier price tag. I waited on these sets, because while I love the show, I really don't want to drop hundreds of dollars on the DVDs. Enter Classic Media...they are giving a stripped down version of the series with just the episodes, sans extras. I honestly won't watch the documentaries anyway, so this set is perfect. The episode transfers are exactly the same, so if you just want to own this series, like me, then you're in luck! This set is priced low, has nice and vibrant cover art and is a ton of fun!
