Review: Army Wives is one of those shows that I never had interest in watching from the commercials. My wife makes me watch re-runs of Grey's Anatomy on Lifetime fairly regularly (even though we own all of the seasons on DVD....I don't get that...) and so I catch the commercials for Army Wives a lot, since that is one of their banner shows. When this was being released on DVD I figured hey, why not check it out. I already watch Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters, Sex in the City and every other girly drama on tv, why not this one?
It honestly is a decent show. It has some good actors, such as Catherine Bell, who stands out as one of the more established and attractive actors in the series. There is a lot of drama to be had when you're an Army wife, apparently! The backdrop of a military setting is very relevent for today, and while this show is great, it definately doesn't show the realities of being a military spouse. Its sensationalized soap opera-type drama with camouflage outfits. Mind you, thats perfectly entertaining and often very risque fun!
The DVD Bonus Features include: Bloopers, Deleted Scenes, Webisodes Featuring Joan And Roland Burton And Jeremy Sherwood, ARMY WIVES Gives Back Lifetime And The Army Wives Team Up To Surprise Deserving Military Families, Stationed In The South The Cast And Crew Of ARMY WIVES Take Us Behind The Scenes In The Historical City Of Charleston, South Carolina, and Show Us How The City's Scenic Landscape Is Integrated Into The Show
