Synopsis: What burdens do the survivors of those who survived carry? A young woman in a Nazi concentration camp saves her life by seducing the young doctor who performs medical experiments on prisoners. Cut to decades later, when that same woman (Bisset) is living in New York City and married with two grown sons.

The two siblings have developed differently under a mother with a long history of erratic behavior. The younger one cant cope at all, and the older one copes too well. Portrayed by Josh Lucas, he is now 40 years old and hides out in psychosexual escapades and a job at a fraudulent modeling agency scamming the young and hopeful. He is good at them both--too good. So why is he growing increasingly frightened? Is he losing his game? His sexual prowess and intellectual diatribes no longer make him feel better. He will have to change to survive.

Review: This is a highly disturbing movie.  I have to preface our review with that statement for the simple fact that it will draw some people in further and others will know that they should move on now!  Me?  I'm in the camp with the drawn in furthers...

The relationships in this film are the focus, from the concentration campes to New York in the 1990s.  There is a montage of brutality, violence and sex.  That cocktail ends up making for a very fine and unique film.  The love-making sequences are violent and abusive, but the acting and performances turned in for this sensual drama are top notch.

The blu-ray looks fantastic.  The film comes out great in high-def with no noticable grain or softness in the picture.  Its grisp, gritty and twisted, just the way it was meant to be seen!

Rating: 5 out of 5 Stars
