Every Day Blu-Ray Review
Synopsis: Liev Schreiber (Salt) heads an all-star cast in this warm and wise comic drama as Ned, a loving husband and devoted father dealing with life's curveballs. He's got a stressed-out wife (Helen Hunt, As Good As It Gets) an independent teenage son (Ezra Miller, City Island), and an embittered father-in-law (Brian Dennehy, Silverado) who's turning his home upside down. Ned's job writing a scandalous TV series for a demanding boss (Eddie Izzard, Valkyrie) is unfulfilling, and late night rewrites with a sexy co-worker (Carla Gugino, Entourage) might just push him over the deep end. This modern family story by Nip/Tuck producer/writer Richard Levine is filled with heart, humor and life's unexpected twists that teach Ned that marriage and parenthood don’t always go according to the script.
Review: This film comes out of the gate with a great start in the way of cast. It features Liev Schreiber in the lead role, which is long overdue, and a supporting cast including Carla Gugino, the great Helen Hunt and the wildly entertaining talent of Eddie Izzard.
We've seen this tale before...a number of times, actually. Only this time, it is done with an unassumptive and easy going attitude that doesn't push us into feeling a certain way about the actions of the characters. This one is about marriage and the tough choices that have to be made. This couple (Hunt and Schreiber) are coming to terms with their newly out gay son and the stagnation in their own lives. This was a great watch and was rather refreshing.
