S.W.A.T.: Firefight DVD Review

Synopsis: AN EXPERT IN ANTI-TERRORISM TACTICS, HOTSHOT LAPD OFFICER PAUL CUTLER IS ORDERED TO DETROIT TO TRAIN ITS S.W.A.T. TEAM IN THE LATEST HOSTAGE RESCUE TECHNIQUES. BUT EVERYTHING CHANGES WHEN THEIR BOTCHED RESPONSE TO A DOMESTIC DISPUTE ENDS WITH A HOSTAGE DOWN AND A GOVERNMENT ASSASSIN NOW OBSESSED WITH TERMINATING HIM

Review: SWAT: Firefight is the follow-up film to the original SWAT.  This time around we get a direct to DVD release with an all-new cast.  This film truly has no relation to the first, save the namesake.  That doesn't impede its ability to become a fantastic action film.

The cast in this one is pretty good, but the one that make the film is actually the villain, played by a very aged Robert Patrick.  He's still got the chops, though.  He plays off his role creepy as hell and with no fear.  He gives a great counter-balance to what might otherwise be a really cheesy rag-tag team of "hero" S.W.A.T. officers.   This one has plenty of action..plenty of suspense.

S.W.A.T. has officially become a DIE HARD-style action series.

Interest Range: Action/Adventure, Sequel
