Review: Ok, when I first heard that there was going to be an ongoing zombie drama on cable television I was mildly interested in checking it out.  I dig that kind of thing and I thought maybe it'd be fun.  I had no idea that I was about to enjoy hands-down one of the best dramas on television.

This show begins with a cop waking from a coma to be thrust into this nightmarish world where zombies have taken over.  There are survivors, but few and far between.  He must learn quickly to survive as he searches for his lost wife and child...and some answers.  The first season centers largely around Atlanta, which was thought to be somewhat of a safe haven...although anyone that follows zombie apocalypse tales knows that won't be the case!  No place is safe...or is it? 

The first season only features six episodes, which is a huge let down, because this show is absolutely addictive.  The bonus features on this blu-ray season really help to bulk up the content, so you don't feel quite so cheated!  Plus, the zombies look great in high-definition.

The special features on this blu-ray include: Extra Footage and Featurettes including The Making Of THE WALKING DEAD, Inside THE WALKING DEAD Episodes 1-6 , A Sneak Peek with Robert Kirkman, Behind the Scenes Zombie Make-Up Tips, Convention Panel with Producers and THE WALKING DEAD Trailer.  The special features are fantastic and help add to the package to give a bit more substance to the first season.

This is hands-down one of the top shows ever put on TV.  Don't miss owning this one and don't miss season two this coming summer on AMC!
