The Green Hornet 3-disc Blu-Ray 3D, Blu-Ray + DVD Combo Review!
Synopsis: Britt Reid (Rogen) is the son of LA's most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene – until his father (Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father's more industrious and inventive employees, Kato (Chou), they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. But in order to do this, they decide to become criminals themselves – protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets.
Using all his ingenuity and skill, Kato builds the ultimate in advanced retro weaponry, The Black Beauty, an indestructible car equal parts firepower and horsepower. Rolling in a mobile fortress on wheels and striking the bad guys with Kato's clever gadgets, The Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, and with the help of Britt's new secretary, Lenore Case (Diaz), they begin hunting down the man who controls LA's gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Waltz). But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.

Review: The re-launch of the Green Hornet franchise isn't one that I saw coming...and I definately didn't think that Seth Rogan would helm the character. I remember watching the 60s version with Bruce Lee when the guest starred on the old 1966 Batman television show. That was my first introduction to the characters. Then, when Kevin Smith wrote his comic book take in recent years, I really enjoyed that. I'm no Hornet purist, but I'm definately familiar with the story and characters. I expected this film to have plenty of action...I didn't expect it to be as overtly violent as it ended up being. It was a welcome surprise, though. Fair warning to parents...I would shy away from letting young kids view this one. The acting is great, the script is solid and Rogan is his usual hilarious self. Even when he isn't trying to be funny, he makes me laugh.
The 3D version of the film looks amazing. There is zero ghosting and it really pops! The blu-ray and DVD are also nice to have..this is a fantastic set. The special features on this set include: PS3 Theme, movieIQ, Jay Chou Audition, Double Barrel, 3D Animated Storyboard Comparisons, The Green Hornet Cutting Room, Filmmakers' Commentary, "Awesoom"-Gag Reel, "Trust Me" -Director Michel Gondry, Writing The Green Hornet, The Black Beauty: Rebirth of Cool, The Stunt Family Armstrong, Finding Kato and The Art of Destruction.
