Review: Fox is giving us some great classic film on blu-ray this month!  The first of the two that we'll review is All About Eve.  This vintage gem was released back in 1950.  The performance in this film by Bette Davis is classic.  The blu-ray transfer looks amazing.  The film is in black and white, which is probably best, because the color used back then wouldn't transfer well.

One of the funnest things about this film, which has gone unmentioned in all of the press, is that this movie stars Marilyn Monroe in a very small supporting role.  This came only a few years before she absolutely blew up as a worldwide phenomenon!  This film had such a rich casting that they put her in this film and saw her absolute appeal for the role.  That is one of the major reasons that this blu-ray will stay in our collection.

The special features on this new blu-ray include: Commentary by Actor Celeste Holm, Mankiewicz Biographer Ken Geist and Christopher Mankiewicz, Commentary by Author Sam Staggs, Joseph L. Mankiewicz: A Personal Journey, The Real Eve, The Secret of Sarah Siddons, AMC Backstory®: All About Eve, Vintage Bette Davis Promotion, Vintage Anne Baxter Promotion, Fox Movietone News, Restoration Comparison and a Theatrical Trailer.

Interest Range: Vintage Film
