Review: The Big Country is an absolute western classic.  The all-star cast is headed up by the great Gregory Peck (Grapes of Wrath) and Charlton Heston.  Heston overacts, as usual, but it works in this one.  This film has a grand scale and goes outside the path of the average western to tell a tale of survival that is emotional and absolutely riveting.  This is the first time that you can get this one on blu-ray high-definition.  The film looks great and the color really ends up popping.  This one is a must have for any fan of vintage westerns.
