Over 8 hours of in-ring action is presented, including classics from the Stampede Wrestling vault as well as vintage WWE bouts against the top stars of the 80s and 90s.

Review: I've been a huge wrestling fan for most of my life.  I grew up on classic WWF and then into the WCW/NWO era and again now during the WWE "PG-Era".  Of all the superstars I've seen grow and fight over the years the excellence of exectuion Bret Hart is one of the tops.   I've watched my share of wrestling DVDs...dozens and dozens...and this one is without a doubt the definitive Bret Hart collection.  It has over 8 freaking hours of classic to 90s action featuring some of Bret's best matches.  I just love watching the classic "give the kids the wraparound glasses" matches the most.  This DVD is phenominal.  This DVD is, as Hart would put it, the best there is..the best there was...and the best there ever will be!  Pick it up today.

The Other Son Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: A provocative tale filmed in Israel and the West Bank of two young men - one Israeli the other Palestinian who discover they were accidentally switched at birth and the complex repercussions on themselves and their respective families.

Review: The Other Son drops viewers right into the middle east and the turbulance therein.  The story doesn't revolve around the conflict, but rather two families and the ramifications of finding out that their children were switched at birth. This foreign film is a phenominal drama that has an extremely lovely story with dynamic characters.  Its rare to find such an emotionally sincere film, so it was quite refreshing.  We highly recommend this one.

Review:  We love Disney films here at the Legion.  Who doesn't, right?  Well, Disney has released another great blu-ray set..this time its Mulan and Mulan II.  We've been waiting a long time to get these films in high-def and we get them both at the same time in one pack. I really appreciate this multi-packing, as we have a huge library of films and this not only helps us save space, but also to get ahold of both films at once, rather than having to wait for an additional release.  The first movie explores Mulan trying to achieve recognition and credibility for her dedication to her country.  The second film finds her a hero and furthers her adventures.   These films are both well produced and phenominal Disney classics.  These films both look amazing in high-definition!  We're happy to have them!

Review: We love Disney here at the Legion.  Who doesn't love Disney?  One off the most underrated films in the Disney library over the past 20 years is the Hunchback of Notre Dame.  I will admit, I didn't see this one in the theater either.  In fact, not even on home video right away.  However, one day back in 2001 I picked up a VHS tape (yeah, thats right!) of Hunchback and popped it in.  Let me tell you, it instantly became one of my favorite Disney films of all time.  Now, we get not only Hunchback on high-definition blu-ray, but the direct to video sequel, as well, which is also underrated. This film looks fantastic on blu-ray and this collector pack is a wonderful addition to any family's library!

Classic and Contemporary Gangster Films on Blu-ray™ May 21 in Two Great Collections

Ultimate Gangster Collection ClassicFirst Time on Blu-ray™The Public Enemy, Little Caesar, The Petrified Forest, White Heat Starring Bogart, Howard, Robinson & Cagney Ultimate Gangster Collection Contemporary Mean Streets, The Untouchables, GoodFellas, Heat, The DepartedStarring De Niro, Pacino, Di Caprio, Nicholson & Damon

BURBANK, Calif., March 11, 2013 – As part of the studio’s 90th Anniversary celebration, eight of Warner Bros. Pictures’ greatest gangster films – from Edward G. Robinson’s 1931 classic Little Caesar to Martin Scorsese’s Oscar®-winning masterpiece The Departed[1] -- will now be available in two Blu-ray™ sets May 21. Released to coincide with Father’s Day gift-giving, the WB genre greats, along with one of Paramount’s best gangster films, will be offered in the Ultimate Gangster Collection: Classic and Ultimate Gangster Collection: Contemporary.

The four films in the Classic Collection have been remastered for their Blu-ray debuts. They include The Public Enemy and White Heat with the legendary performances of James Cagney; Little Caesar with Edward G. Robinson as hoodlum Rico Bandello; and The Petrified Forest starring Humphrey Bogart, Bette Davis and Leslie Howard. The collection includes a feature-length documentary Public Enemies: The Golden Age of the Gangster Drama which explores the development of the crime genre and the rise of Warner stars like Cagney, Bogart and Robinson. Also discussed are directors such as Walsh, Wellman and Curtiz; the films themselves; their influence on filmmakers worldwide; and Warner’s impact in establishing the genre.

The Contemporary Collection is a 5-disc set with five crime films that include Martin Scorsese’s GoodFellas, The Departed and Mean Streets; Heat, starring Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Val Kilmer; and Paramount’s The Untouchables with Kevin Costner, De Niro and Sean Connery.

These two collections are being released in tribute to the films that remain a cornerstone in the legacy of Warner Bros. Major Hollywood studios in the ‘30s and ‘40s were each known for their distinctive styles (MGM for its musicals, Universal for its horror films, etc.). Warner Bros. was best known for firmly establishing the genre which contained socially conscious themes and a simple visual look (low key lighting and sparse sets). Nowhere were these elements more prominent than in the films featured in the Classic Edition, with the Contemporary Edition showing how a new generation of crime drama has been established.

Both Ultimate Gangster Collection: Classic and Ultimate Gangster Collection: Contemporary will include 32-page booklets with images and additional information about each film. Each of the two Collections will be offered at $49.99 SRP. The titles in the Classic Collection will be available individually as well. Each single will sell for $19.98 SRP.

Details of Ultimate Gangster Collection Classic

The Public Enemy (1931) – Now on Blu-ray!The Public Enemy showcases James Cagney’s powerful 1931 breakthrough performance as streetwise tough guy Tom Powers, a role Cagney won only because production chief Darryl F. Zanuck made a late casting change. Cagney had a secondary role but Zanuck soon spotted Cagney’s screen dominance and gave him the star part, even after shooting had begun. From that moment, an indelible genre classic and an enduring star career were both born. Bristling with ’20s style, dialogue and desperation under the masterful directorial eye of William A. Wellman, this is a virtual time capsule of the Prohibition era -- taut, gritty and hard-hitting. Several restored scenes (deleted from subsequent reissue versions due to enforcement of the Production code) from the original release version of the film are included -- unseen for decades until they were restored by WHV for its premiere DVD release.

Little Caesar (1931) – Now on Blu--ray!“R-I-C-O, Little Caesar, that’s who!” Edward G. Robinson bellowed into the phone and Hollywood got the message. The 37-year-old Robinson, not gifted with matinee-idol looks, was nonetheless a first-class star. Little Caesar is the tale of pugnacious Caesar Enrico Bandello, a hoodlum with a Chicago-sized chip on his shoulder, few attachments, fewer friends and no sense of underworld diplomacy

The Petrified Forest (1936) – Now on Blu-ray!A rundown diner bakes in the Arizona heat. Inside, fugitive killer Duke Mantee sweats out a manhunt, holding disillusioned writer Alan Squier, young Gabby Maple and a handful of other hostages. The Petrified Forest, Robert E. Sherwood’s 1935 Broadway success about survival of the fittest, hit the screen a year later with Leslie Howard and Humphrey Bogart magnificently recreating their stage roles and Bette Davis ably reteaming with her Of Human Bondage co-star Howard. The film presented Bogart with his first major starring role and helped launch his brilliant movie career.

White Heat (1949) – Now on Blu-ray!Playing a psychotic thug, Cody Jarrett, devoted to his hard-boiled “Ma,” James Cagney gives a performance to match his electrifying work in The Public Enemy. Tightly directed by Raoul Walsh, this fast-paced thriller tracing Jarrett’s violent life in and out of jail is among the most vivid screen performances of Cagney’s career.

Mean Streets (1973)
In the film considered one of his early accomplishments, Scorsese teams with Robert De Niro for the first time in this tale of young toughs in New York’s Little Italy. De Niro won the National Society of Film Critics’ Best Supporting Actor award for his role. Fans will appreciate what Leonard Maltin calls a “technically dazzling film which put Scorsese on the map deservedly so.” Mean Streets also stars Harvey Keitel, David Proval, Richard Romanus, Robert Carradine and David Carradine

This classic confrontation between good and evil stars Kevin Costner as federal agent Eliot Ness, Robert De Niro as Al Capone and Sean Connery as Malone, the cop who teaches Ness how to beat the mob.

Willow Blu-Ray + DVD Combo Review

Synopsis: Journey to the far corners of your imagination with Willow, for the first time ever on Blu-ray! Now fully digitally restored, this release features a dazzling array of extras, including new, never-before-seen exclusive content. From legendary filmmakers George Lucas and Ron Howard comes a timeless fantasy tale in which heroes comes in all sizes...and adventure is the greatest magic of all. When young Willow Ufgood (Warwick Davis) finds an abandoned baby girl, he learns she is destined to end the reign of the wicked Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh). In order to protect the child, Willow must team up with a rogue swordsman (Val Kilmer) and overcome the forces of darkness in the ultimate battle of good versus evil!

Review: I remember seeing Willow in the theaters as a kid.  Its a vivid memory, because at the time the film freaked me out.  The skull headed general..the multi-headed monster..the creepy dog monsters..it was just too much for me as a kid.  I remember having a kids meal cup from Burger King of that multi-headed monster that was temperature sensitive.   I remember the toys..I still have some of them in my personal collection.  What I didn't remember all that much of was the actual film itself.  I hadn't seen it since I was a kid in the 1980s and my memory of it was pretty good, but what I didn't remember was the very Lucas-inspired tone of the film...it was almost Ron Howard's love letter to Lucas, who wrote the film.   The movie looks amazing on blu-ray, the high definition transfer does it well.  I really enjoyed the whimsical nature of the movie and the fantastic fantasy elements.  Willow stands the test of time and is a great addition to any blu-ray library.

When Roger comes home to find Ah Tao's suffered a severe stroke and is unable to care for herself, he agrees to help her relocate to a nursing home.

He wants to help, but fears he'll fail her. She needs his kindness, but doesn't want to be a burden. As their roles reverse, he becomes her caregiver, and comes to understand how much she means to him.

One of 2012's most heralded and treasured films, with cameo appearances from film luminaries such as Sammo Hung and Tsui Hark, A SIMPLE LIFE has garnered multiple awards for Deanie Ip (Best Actress), Andy Lau (Best Actor), Susan Chan (Best Screenplay), and Ann Hui (Best Director). A SIMPLE LIFE has also won Best Feature Film in multiple festivals and made film critics' Top 10 lists all over the world

Review: A Simple Life is one of the rare dramatic features that could easily dip into the cliche and sappy, but stays at a level of subtle vulnerability and legitimate feeling.  This film, about an aging couple where the husband has to take care of the wife medically, brings anyone that has been in a long term relationship through a familiar journey of discovery.  This film is absolutely phenominal in every facet.  We highly recommend this one!

SYNOPSIS

Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and—if he has his way—every wire bet placed west of Chicago. And he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, but also the police and the politicians he has under his thumb. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop...except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) and Sgt. Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen's world apart.

"… Great entertainment. A first-class action thriller in first-class style.”
- John J. Puccio, Movie Metropolis

One of the Great Martial Arts Movies of All Time

ENTER THE DRAGON 40TH ANNIVERSARYULTIMATE COLLECTOR’S EDITION GIFTSET
ON BLU-RAY™ JUNE 11

Includes Featurettes, Documentaries, Memorabilia and More

Burbank, Calif., March 4, 2013 – Enter the Dragon, one of martial arts icon Bruce Lee’s last films, will debut June 11 on Blu-ray™ in the Enter the Dragon 40th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition giftset from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The film, which helped bring interest in the Asian martial arts genre to mainstream Western cinema, has been re-mastered for its 40th anniversary, and will now feature new bonus materials, such as the featurette, No Way as Way, on the legacy of Bruce Lee, plus other featurettes and commentary. Memorabilia -- which includes collectible art cards, lenticular card and an embroidered patch --are also part of the giftset.

Bruce Lee was an incredible athlete and mixed martial artist who, despite making a limited number of movies during his short life, became a charismatic megastar and left a permanent mark on cinema and popular culture. Even Time Magazine agreed. They included Lee in the “100 Most Important People of the 20th century” issue (Heroes and Icons 1999*).  Enter the Dragon continues to resonate with today’s audiences. It was a major theatrical hit 40 years ago, grossing approximately $25 million domestically – the equivalent of almost $180 million in today’s box-office. Enter the Dragon has sold more than 450,000 units on DVD and Blu-ray since 2004. In 2004, Enter the Dragon was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the United States National Film Registry as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant." It also received a 95% positive rating on the critics’ review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes (www.rottentomatoes.com).

Lee was born in San Francisco on November 27, 1940. As a young boy in Hong Kong, he acted in some 20 films there and first became known in the U.S. in 1966 for his role as sidekick Kato in TV’s “The Green Hornet.” He also appeared in TV shows like “Ironside” and “Longstreet,” with his most notable American role coming in the 1969 movie, Marlowe, starring James Garner. Returning to Hong Kong, Lee starred in a number of successful films for Raymond Chow’s Golden Harvest Productions and soon became a superstar in China. His enormous overseas success ultimately reached Hollywood and the attention of filmmaker Fred Weintraub and Warner Bros., who produced Enter the Dragon and tapped the actor to star. Lee died suddenly in Hong Kong, at the age of 32, of a cerebral edema. That was on July 20, 1973, less than a month before the film’s August 17 U.S. premiere. Posthumously, Enter the Dragon rocketed him to international superstardom.

Enter the Dragon producer Fred Weintraub, who also wrote the book Bruce Lee, Woodstock, and Me said: “If fans want to hail Bruce as the greatest and most influential martial artist who ever lived, you’ll get no argument from me. He was a shining star who streaked across the night sky of our collective awareness in a flash of white hot unsustainable intensity only to burn up in the atmosphere of fame, wealth, and worldwide adulation. Watching him again (this time even better on Blu-ray), you can see why he became the first international superstar from a third world country.”

The plot of the Enter the Dragon revolves around outstanding martial arts student Lee (Bruce Lee), who is recruited by an intelligence agency and then uncovers the evil Han's (Kien Shih) white slavery and drug trafficking ring located on a secret island fortress. Along with martial arts champions Roper (John Saxon) and Williams (Jim Kelly), Lee infiltrates the stronghold and enters Han’s brutal tournament. Lee and his partners fuse skills in Karate, Judo, Tae Kwon Do, T'ai chi ch'uan and Hapkido, in a now classic fight-to-the-death epic battle, all staged by Lee himself.  Bruce Lee, John Saxon, and Ahna Capri star in Enter the Dragon, which co-stars Bob Wall, and Shih Kien and introduces Jim Kelly. Music is by Lalo Schifrin. Written by Michael Allen, the film was produced by Fred Weintraub and Paul Heller in association with Raymond Chow. Robert Clouse directed.
