The LEGO Movie: Everything is Awesome Edition (Blu-ray + DVD + UltraViolet Combo Pack + Exclusive Minifigure + Exclusive Content + Bonus Blu-ray 3D) Review

Synopsis: An ordinary LEGO minifigure, mistakenly thought to be the extraordinary MasterBuilder, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil LEGO tyrant from gluing the universe together. Includes 3D blu-ray, 2D blu-ray, 2D DVD, digital HD ultraviolet and exclusive minifigurine.

Review: There are few things as glorious as a Lego feature film.  If you follow animation you know that there have been a few great Lego releases, including Star Wars and Dc Comics.  These are really fun, but very brief mini-releases.  This full length film is a win for adults and kids alike.  This set comes with the DVD, 2D Blu-Ray and even the 3D version of the film!  Also, a great Lego minifigure of the movie character Vitruvius!  This is the ultimate edition of the film, to be sure!  The movie itself is a great mixture of fun, adventure and feeling.  Everyone in our household adores it, from ages 4 all the way to 34!  This one is a great buy for the entire family and a must-have for fun summertime watching!  Fair warning, the song "Everything is Awesome" will be stuck in your head from then on.

300: Rise of an Empire (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD UltraViolet Combo Pack) Review

Synopsis: 300: Rise of an Empire,” told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” is a new chapter of the epic saga, which takes the action to a new battlefield—the sea. The story pits the Greek general Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces, ruled by the mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and led by Artemisia, the vengeful commander of the Persian navy.  Knowing his only hope of defeating the overwhelming Persian armada will be to unite all of Greece, Themistokles ultimately leads the charge that will change the course of the war.

Review: This is the sequel to the hit adventure fantasy film 300.  I actually enjoyed this film more than the first one, for a few reasons.  Firstly, a new director...I'm not a Zack Snyder fan whatsoever.  Next, the effects were toned down a bit from the first one.  The story in this one is a little prequel and a also some events that happen at the same time as the events in 300.  This was surprisingly fun for a sequel and I would actually recommend it to anyone!

Finally, you can own the complete Transformers Animated series, including the never-before-released third season, right here in one exciting collection!

Review: I was a fan of the generation one Transformers cartoon as a kid, so when this cartoon debuted back in 2007 I was really excited, because my son was about the same age then that I was when I started watching the original show.  He loved it when it was on the air, but hadn't seen it in years.  Now, with the release of the complete series, including the never before released on DVD third season, we got the chance to watch it again!  He's almost 12 now and this DVD set has re-invigorated his enjoyment of not only this series, but the entire franchise.  This show sports a fantastic new art design and an excellent serialized storyline that gives this show a depth that many toons don't offer anymore.  I cannot recommend this one enough.

The Adventures of Batman DVD Review

The Adventures of Batman DVD Review

Synopsis:  The Adventures of Batman is an American animated television series produced by Lou Schiemer's Filmation Studios, which first broadcast as part of The Batman/Superman Hour in 1968.  Each of the 34 shorts features over-the-top characters and catchy dramatic music cues, giving this version of Batman a realistic look and feel—by cartoon standards of the day. The film’s colors are vibrant, exciting and truly exemplify the character of these original films.

Review: Batman is one of the most popular comic book heroes in the world, so you would assume that all of the animated incarnations were already released on DVD, but that just isn't the case.  Now, with this release, we get a step closer to completion!  This is the first true Batman cartoon.  It was produced by the legendary Filmation studios.  This single DVD represents the complete series, so its a great one-stop buy to help complete your collection.  This cartoon is a lot of fun, as long as you're looking for the 'white knight' version of Batman that we got from the 1966 Batman TV show.  We highly recommend picking this one up, its a must for any real Bat-Fan!

Nutty Professor: 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray Ultimate Collector's Edition Review

Synopsis: THE NUTTY PROFESSOR is now available on Blu-ray, in a brand-new 50th Anniversary four-disc Collector’s Edition, including a new featurette called “Jerry Lewis: No Apologies,” an intimate look at “The King of Comedy,” a 48-page book of the film’s original story boards, a 44-page book of excerpts from Jerry’s cutting script with personal notes, and a recreated “Being a Person” book – written exclusive for the film’s crew.  Two other Lewis comedies, Cinderfella and The Errand Boy are included in the set.

Review: The true comedy film is a lost art these days.  I find myself looking back to classics like the Nutty Professor and other Jerry Lewis films, because movies like this are timeless.  This new boxed set brings the classic film to blu-ray in a great collector's edition that is beyond definitive!  The book is a fantastic accompanyment, not to mention the great extras on the blu-ray.  This set also gives us a few other films with Cinderfella and The Errand Boy.  I had seen Cinderfella before, but not The Errand Boy.  I absolutely loved both of them and have already had a really fun viewing night with the family.  These films are great for those with kids that still want to laugh!

Falling Skies Season Three DVD Review

Synopsis: The first season of Falling Skies takes place in the aftermath of an alien attack that left Earth a shell of its former self. Led by Tom Mason (Noah Wyle), a history professor, a group of human survivors who call themselves 2nd Massachusetts band together to make a stand against the alien invaders. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

Review: There are a lot of great shows on television these days, but very little in the way of sci-fi.  Falling Skies fills a gap that was desperately desired with a science fiction show that can be watched seriously.  No cheese and no camp.  This show is hardcore drama.  Season three of the show really picked up with a whole new angle.  There is yet another alien race that has landed on earth, but these ones are claiming to want to help the humans defeat their wicked invaders.  The question is, do they have other more sinister motives?   There is so much intrigue and action..this one is not to be missed!
