Synopsis: A high-powered Hawaii real estate lawyer (George Clooney) finds his ordered existence shattered when a boating accident leaves his wife in a coma, leaving him in charge of the young daughters (Shailene Woodley, Amara Miller) he barely knows. After finding out his wife was having an affair, he drags the girls along on his hunt for the other man, making for moving revelations along the way. Alexander Payne's affecting comedy-drama also stars Nick Krause, Matthew Lillard.

Review: The Descendants had an affection from me going into it, because director Alexander Payne is from my home city of Omaha, NE.  In fact, he films a large portion of his films here (About Schmidt, Election, etc.) and now he works with Clooney again in this dark comedy that certainly falls within his chosen style.   The Descendants won't be a shock to those that follow Payne, but for those that aren't familiar..its life-affecting drama that will make you both miserable and hopeful at the same time, lol.  Clooney brings this one the air of sophistication that it needs and makes it a fantastic watch.
