The Killing: The Complete First Season Blu-Ray Review
Synopsis: Following a shocking murder, the lives of the police, suspects and victim's family are intricately woven together in this "spellbinding" (TV Guide) series starring Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman, This engrossing series has earned huge acclaim, as well as a Golden Globe® nomination and multiple Emmy® nominations in its first season! All 13 episodes from the first season--including the "Pilot," "What You Have Left," "Undertow," "I'll Let You Know When I Get There," and "Orpheus Descending"--are featured in a three-disc set.
Review: AMC has become a leader in dramatic and dynamic storytelling. The Killing is a remake of a foreign show, but the US version has definately found its own voice by following in the footsteps of the cult classic Twin Peaks....even down to the catchphrase..."Who Killed Rosie Larsen". The show, however, goes far deeper than that initial mystery into the lives of several characters. This one is a very slow-burn and you learn small bits at a time..half the time just revealing more questions to pile one, but thats the fun of sticking with this type of drama, right? This one is high quality..great acting..great story so far and the mystery continues with season two!
The special features on this set include: Commentary on Pilot, Orpheus Descending – Extended Season Finale, An Autopsy of The Killing, Deleted Scenes, Gag Reel and Commentary on Orpheus Descending.
