Conan The Adventurer: Season Two, Part 2 DVD Review

Synopsis: Produced by Sunbow, the animation group that brought you Transformers and G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, Conan The Adventurer follows Conan and his friends on their quest to rescue Conan's family from an evil spell, cast by the Serpent Man wizard Wrath-Amon. These episodes find Conan helping out a mysterious city led by an evil ruler, falling under an evil spell, and learning how to read! Conan The Adventurer originally aired in Saturday morning syndication beginning in 1992 transitioning to a daily airing throughout 1993 in the second season. Hasbro also launched a branded toy line in 1992. The comic book line has been in print 40 years.

Review: Conan is one of those fantasy characters that has gotten an interesting treatment over the years.  This cartoon, for example, was a kid-friendly version of the savage warrior.  For that reason, many Conan fans have shunned the show.  There is a faction of people, however, were turned onto the mythology through this cartoon, so many of us do still enjoy it greatly.  Plus, its a fun way to let your kids experience a unique and fun world.  This DVD set wraps up the series, released by Shout Factory over the past year or so.  Its a joy to own it all and this is a great show that holds up well, as do all of the Sunbow produced shows.

Interest Range: Fantasy, Animation
