Stomp the Yard: Homecoming DVD Review

Stomp the Yard: Homecoming DVD Review

Synopsis: In the countdown to a national step-off, rivalries at Truth University run red hot. The Theta Nus are counting on new pledge Chance Harris (Collins Pennie) to lead the team to victory. But he’s too caught up in his own problems to focus. At odds with his father, caught up in romantic troubles and targeted by a street gang for an unpaid debt, Chance must decide what is truly important and make the choices that will shape his life. Stomp the Yard 2: Homecoming unites a powerful cast featuring Terrence J and Pooch Hall with a soundtrack packed with pulse-pounding tracks.

Review: This film is the direct-to-DVD sequel to the 1997 film 'Stomp the Yard'.  Why did it go directly to DVD?  Well, to be honest its a bit predictable.  This dancer falls in with the wrong crowd and owes them money.  If he can't pay them back, they will break those dancin' legs!  Of corse, a dancing competition just happens to have a large cash prize!  Convenient!  Honestly, though, the dancing and choreography in this film will far surpass the rather predictable plot, because that is really the point of these movies.  I will give the film that the quality of the dance sequences is really high, its really well done.

The special features on this DVD include: Filmmaker and Cast Commentary, Deleted Scenes and Stomp On The Yard: Choreography

Interest Range: Drama, Dancing
