Robin Hood: Men in Tights Blu-Ray Review

Robin Hood: Men in Tights Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: Brooks pulls off another serious spoof on a classic with Robin Hood: Men in Tights. The one-of-a-kind cast includes Cary Elwes as the head of the merry men, Roger Rees as the evil dyslexic Sheriff of “Rottingham,” Richard Lewis as the seriously neurotic Prince John, Amy Yasbeck as the put-upon Maid Marian, Patrick Stewart as ultrrrra-Scottish King Richard, Tracey Ullman as a much-sought-after soothsayer named Latrine and Dave Chappelle and Isaac Hayes as hilarious characters named Achchoo and Asneeze.

Review: Robin Hood: Men in Tights was one of the last great spoof films from Mel Brooks.  It featured great comedic actors like Cary Elwes and the later to be infamous Dave Chappelle.  With the new Robin Hood film coming to theaters, this film finds a new relevance.

The big question...how does the blu-ray look?  Well, let me tell you that I haven't been quick to recommend older film put onto blu-ray for lack of quality.  Its hard to convert something up and have it look anything but grainy and terrible.  These Mel Brooks films, however, have managed to transfer very nicely to blu-ray and are most definately worth the buy.
