Synopsis: Acclaimed filmmaker Christopher Nolan directs an international cast in this sci-fi actioner that travels around the globe and into the world of dreams. Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is the best there is at extraction: stealing valuable secrets inside the subconscious during the mind’s vulnerable dream state. His skill has made him a coveted player in industrial espionage but also has made him a fugitive and cost him dearly. Now he may get a second chance if he can do the impossible: inception, planting an idea rather than stealing one. If they succeed, Cobb and his team could pull off the perfect crime. But no planning or expertise can prepare them for a dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy only Cobb could have seen coming.
Review: Inception was advertised as a visually stunning sci-fi epic. They really didn't give you much clue to the plot, other than that they were invading people's dreams. The plot is simple, they invade the dreams of business competitors to steal secrets. DiCaprio is assembling a team for one last inception to set his life straight. Of course, it all goes wrong, otherwise the movie wouldn't be terribly interesting, now would it? The plot remains confusing, but if you pay attention you'll catch up.
The film really is visually stunning. Nolan did a wonderful job of casting and of making these dream worlds a reality. It puts films like Dark City and even the Matrix trilogy to absolute shame. You can get this film on DVD, but honestly I would recommend the blu-ray if you have that capability.
