Synopsis: RESTREPO is a feature-length documentary that chronicles the deployment of a platoon of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan's Korengal Valley. The movie focuses on a remote 15-man outpost, "Restrepo," named after a platoon medic who was killed in action. It was considered one of the most dangerous postings in the U.S. military. This is an entirely experiential film: the cameras never leave the valley; there are no interviews with generals or diplomats. The only goal is to make viewers feel as if they have just been through a 90-minute deployment. This is war, full stop. The conclusions are up to you.

Review: Holy CRAP!  I haven't been into war films since I was a kid.  I stopped wanting to play GI Joe years ago, once the reality of the true cost of war became clear to me.  I know a lot of guys still have these absurd male fantasies, brought on by sensationalized war films.  Restrepo is a great cure.  This documentary style film follows a real platoon in one of the most dangerous posts in Afghanistan.  You don't get stupid interviews or cut aways, you just get a full-on, hardcore look at what life in war is like.  Its a must-watch for everyone in this country.  Whether you support or are against war, this film must be seen.
