Review: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one of the coolest franchises in history.  They have been in comics, cartoon and film.  This DVD is the first official release of the 1997 TV show that capped off the 90s era of the TMNT.  The Next Mutation was a live action show done in the style of the films.  The animatronics weren't quite as good and the acting is a little choppy at times, but overall its a great show.  They tried to go for more of a Power Rangers feel with it to appeal to the generation at hand, but again, its still fun.  This show also introduces Venus, the first female turtle!  This one is a must for any hardcore TMNT fan or any parent looking to expose their kids to the Turtles.  The Power Rangers are still super popular with kids, so themes on this show will hold up well.  This DVD collects the first 13 episodes of the series..can't wait to see Shout Factory give us the full series!
