Review: When you take a newly cult director like Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) and a long-time fan favorite actor like Danny Trejo, a name not known to many until recently but a face we all knew, and you get a brainchild like Machete. Machete is quite simply put a little boys dream. This film is an expansion of one of many fake movie trailers made for the Quentin Tarantino Grindhouse project.
Machete is everything you love in B-class film. Every exploitative and gratuitously violent situation that you can imagine. Throw all that in with Cheech playing a priest...you have a masterpiece! This film will only make sense and appeal to a certain crowd. You need to have a love for camp...a love for Trejo and a love for fun. This movie is all blood, murder and mayhem. Its a wonderful epic that I'll enjoy for years to come and will defintely stick in the books as an instant cult classic!
