Frankenweenie (Four-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D/Blu-ray/DVD + Digital Copy) Review
Synopsis:
From Disney and creative genius Tim Burton (Alice in Wonderland, The Nightmare
Before Christmas) comes the hilarious and offbeat Frankenweenie, a heartwarming
tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky,
young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to
life - with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn
creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor's fellow students, teachers and the
entire town learn that getting a new 'leash on life' can be monstrous. Complete
with electrifying bonus features, Frankenweenie is alive with enchanting fun for
the whole family in eye-popping Blu-ray 3D.
Review: We're Tim Burton fans here at the Legion, thats no secret. Anything Burton touches turns to gold. When we heard he was going back to his old short film and creating a full Frankenweenie film for Disney, we were thrilled..and with good reason. This movie is full of dynamic animation, characters and storytelling, as you'd expect from a Burton. We follow the touching tale of Victor, as he is heartbroken by the death of his best friend, Sparky, he re-animates his body, creating a monster of sorts.
This set provides you with a 3D blu-ray, 2D blu-ray, DVD and digital copy. Its the ultimate collectors set, complete with a nice lenticular slipcase. The film looks amazing in 3D, and honestly thats the best way to view it.
