The Possession Blu-Ray Review
Synopsis:
Clyde (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Stephanie Brenek (Kyra Sedgwick) see little
cause for alarm when their youngest daughter Em becomes oddly obsessed with an
antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. But as Em's behavior becomes
increasingly erratic, the couple fears the presence of a malevolent force in
their midst, only to discover that the box was built to contain a Dibbuk, a
dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host.
Review: I'm going to start by saying I'm not religious and in no way believe in this crap. Now, that being said, this is a fun film. Is it a hardcore exorcism flick that will gross you out and shock you? No. This one is mainstream, very well made and acted, but vanilla for the genre. This is a great watch for the average viewer, serious horror-philes won't be interested. Thats ok though, this one is a good and fun watch for most of us.
The special features include:
Audio Commentary with director Ole Bornedal
- Audio Commentary with writers Juliet Snowden and Stiles White
- “The Real History of the Dibbuk Box” Featurette
- Theatrical Trailer
