Buck DVD Review

Synopsis: BUCK, a richly textured and visually stunning film, follows Buck Brannaman from his abusive childhood to his phenomenally successful approach to horses. A real-life horse-whisperer , he eschews the violence of his upbringing and teaches people to communicate with their horses through leadership and sensitivity, not punishment. Buck possesses near magical abilities as he dramatically transforms horses - and people - with his understanding, compassion and respect.

A truly American story about an unsung hero and one of the most successful documentaries of the year, BUCK is about an ordinary man who has made an extraordinary life despite tremendous odds.

Review: Buck is, on the surface, a story about a horse trainer.  When you get into this film it may look a little dull...at least it did to us!  What we found was an in-depth, emotional, moving and fantastic film about an abused boy that grows to be an inspiring and fantastic horse trainer and person.  His compassion and sensitivity is astounding.  This one is a major surprise and definately a sleeper film that you won't want to miss.  The best documentary DVD of the season so far.

Interest Range: Drama
