Review: This film is an early work by now anime legend Miyazaki. The 1984 anime was developed from a 1982 manga. Fortunately, Disney is bringing over a lot of Miyazaki's work with Studio Ghibli, so that fans and young people alike can enjoy these features in the best possible format.
This new blu-ray release of Nausicca is a fantastic addition to any anime collection. The classic feature has a lot of themes that would be seen in Miyazaki's later work, but none so prevelant as the ecological one. Now more than ever its apparent to us all that his themes were not only very relevant, but completely before their time. Miyazaki continues to be a visionary. This masterpiece looks amazing in high-definition. The transfer came across smooth and with no grain. The color really pops and this film looks better than it ever has before!
