Review: Tales from the Earthsea is a compilation of four of the Earthsea books by Ursula Le Guin.  Le Guin wasn't terribly happy with the departures that the adaptation took from her series.  The filmw as directed by Goro Miyazaki, the son of legendary director Hayao Miyazaki.  This initial venture turned out to be quite enjoyable and a clear labor of love.  The film is purely a fantasy anime tale, but the voice acting is so above and beyond and the animation is so outstanding that it really helps to set the bar for the new generation of animation.  Released under the Studio Gibli and brought to America by Disney, this is a wonderful film that every anime fan should enjoy.

The special features on this DVD include: The World Of Ghibli: Visit Earthsea in this enchanted interactive experience, Behind the Studio - Discover the Film's fantastic origins!, Enter the Lands - Explore the many worlds of Studio Ghibli through this interactive experience and Studio Ghibli Trivia Challenge - Test your knowledge.
