Apocalypse: World War II DVD Review

Synopsis: This captivating documentary series takes an in-depth look at the Second World War through the eyes of those who lived through it: the soldiers, the victims, and the political and military leaders. Using archival footage – most of it previously unseen and now colorized – this series provides an intimate and breath-taking examination of history’s most devastating war.

Review: A lot of war documentaries can get tedious and dull..especially when they start talking about battle details.  What Apocalypse manages to do is not only provide a great soundtrack to backdrop the footage, but they give some of the most raw and unfiltered looks at World War II that I've ever seen!  We're talking colorized ships in Pearl Harbour burning into the water.  The imagery is sometimes graphic, especially when you get into the concentration camps, but its real and thats the most important part of a documentary.  Especially one about a war that is so important to the 20th century.  The information isn't anything groundbreaking or particularly new, but the footage alone is worth the cost of this DVD!

Interest Range: World War II, Documentary
