Taxi Driver Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: A mentally unstable Vietnam war veteran works as nighttime taxi driver in a city whose perceived decadence and sleaze feeds his urge to violently lash out, attempting to save a teenage prostitute in the process.

Review: Taxi Driver is a beloved cult classic film that has enthralled generations.  The post-modern tale of a working man driven to the edge by the insanity of the modern world.  The film is making it onto blu-ray for the first time in a fantastic new boxed set with TONS of extras.  The question in everyone's mind when a classic like this comes to blu-ray is how does it look?   Well, it looks AMAZING.  Taxi Driver has one of the best high-definition transfers I've seen for some time, at 6x the resolution of the DVD previous release!  A MUST for any fan of the film.

The special features on this blu-ray include: movieIQ, Original 1986 Commentary with Director Martin Scorsese and Writer Paul Schrader recorded by The Criterion Collection, Interactive Script to Screen, Feature Length Commentary by Writer Paul Schrader, Feature Length Commentary by Professor Robert Kolker, Martin Scorsese on Taxi Driver, God's Lonely Man, Producing Taxi Driver, Influence and Appreciation: A Martin Scorsese Tribute, Taxi Driver Stories, Making Taxi Driver, Travis' New York, Travis' New York Locations, Storyboard to Film Comparisons with Martin Scorsese and Animated Photo Galleries.
