De-Lovely Blu-Ray Review

Synopsis: From Paris to Venice to Broadway to Hollywood, the lives of Cole (Kline) and Linda (Ashley Judd) Porter were never less than glamorous and wildly unconventional. And though Cole’s thirst for life strained their marriage, Linda never stopped being his muse, inspiring some of the greatest songs of the twentieth century.

Review: I had never seen this film prior to checking-out the blu-ray, which is odd, because I'm a huge fan of both Kline and Judd's work.  De-Lovely is a biopic of the Cole Porter story.  Porter was an amazing musician and composer that worked in the early to mid 20th century.  He was also a closeted gay man.  His marriage to Linda (Judd) may have lasted 35 years, but it was riddled with male lovers and indiscretions that took a toll on Linda.  This brutally honest tale is presented in a slower moving, but high quality format!  The movie is fantastic and it loooks great on blu-ray.  The colors, albeit mute by design in some areas, do pop and there isn't any visible grain to be seen.

Interest Range: Biopic
