IP Man 2: 2-Disc Collector's Edition Blu-Ray Review

Review: We're connoisseurs of martial arts film here at the Legion, both retro and campy and modern serious!  Hands down one of the best franchises to emerge over the past two decades is IP Man!  This sequel to the original epic biopic gives us a bit more fighting than the original and less focus on the social backround of the characters of the time, but does give us that oh so desired look at the sensei's first meeting with the beloved martial arts master Bruce Lee.   This film is full of action and looks fantastic in high-definition.  This film is strong and definately is a deserving sequel to the original.  I don't think fans will be disappointed.

The special features on this blu-ray include: Bonus Features, Making Of, Behind The Sets, Deleted Scenes, Shooting Diary, Interviews, Trailers and an English Language track.

Interest Range: Action, Martial Arts
Synopsis: International superstar Donnie Yen reprises his iconic role as the real-life kung fu Grandmaster Ip Man, widely known as the man who brought Wing Chun to the world with the help of his star pupil, Bruce Lee. Master Ip, a new arrival in British-occupied Hong Kong, wants to open a martial arts academy to teach his unique Wing Chun style. A corrupt group of martial arts masters, led by Master Hung (Sammo Hung) refuses to allow him to teach in peace until he proves himself as a kung fu master. Ip s troubles continues when he is forced to enter a brutal King of the Ring boxing match against Twister, a Western-style boxer who insults the Chinese locals, in a East versus West knock-down, drag-out fight to the finish.
