Review: We're of the firm belief that anything Tim Burton touches is pure gold.  Anything from Beetlejuice to Batman...Mars Attacks to Sweeney Todd...he cannot go wrong.  The man is an absolute genius..so much so that he can take an old soap opera and make a wildly entertaining and quirkly film.   Johnny Depp helms the cast as Barnabus, a vampire that was buried alive for hundreds of years by a jealous witch, only to awaken and find that the Collins family has fallen from grace. Barnabus must then take on Angelique the witch to secure the future of his family and their legacy.  Tim Burton, along with the musical stylings of the great Danny Elfman, can manage to make anything into a golden egg.  Dark Shadows not only entertains...it delights.  The movie has comedy, drama, romance, tragedy....it is truly a dark comedy.
